Could this be a... date? [Jul. 8th, 2009|11:27 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , ]
[Current Mood | cheerful]
[Current Music |Super Junior - Why I Like You]

Quick update on my health: feeling a lot better and not coughing, like, at all. Except for when my throat starts getting dry and I talk too much, which can happen when you're walking and talking to your classmate on the way home.

I've been walking with my new friend Kaeun from my TESOL classes. She's a really nice Korean girl who wants to teach English back in Korea. Her mannerisms are really adorable and she keeps calling me cute when I talk about Ilkweon with her. She wanted to know about him, probably because he's Korean. I don't know if I'd ever introduce them to each other. lol. Shame on me, but oh well. That's how it goes.

ANYWAY~! So, great news. Ilkweon asked me to dinner and said that he wants to pay for it. The big plan is, Saturday after class I'm going to rush home, make sure I look nice, and (hopefully) he'll pick me up at my house. I didn't work out that detail, but Kaeun brought it just never dawned on me to ask. lol. He drives, so he'll most likely come pick me up. I should ask him... but I want to make sure that Saturday night is good for him before I ask.

But yeah. I'm not exactly sure if this counts as a date because for all I know he just wants to practice English and wants to pay because I paid for his coffee when I interviewed him. But... oh man. I really hope it's like a date. That'd be really... I'd probably melt. He's really adorable. I really look forward to receiving his emails and seeing what he says. When I talked to Kaeun about how I wanted to look pretty for him, she said I was really cute. I think this happens in general when one person likes another, y'know? You just get, well, excited at the thought of that person. I think as a result, girls get cuter. lol.

Oh! Apparently there's a girl version of Super Junior called Girls' Generation. GG only has 9 members in comparison to SJ's 13. All of GG look the same. I mean, really look the same. According to Wiki, there've been some controversies about how all the girls in that group got plastic surgery of some sort. Ilkweon said that they looked like they came out of a factory. lol. I have to agree with him. They're all REALLY skinny too. It's ridiculous. Ilkweon likes them, but it's probably because they're all pretty girls. It's just like why I like Super Junior. A lot of them are really hot or pretty. Ryeowook is SO ridiculously cute. They're all really cute when they're interacting together. @_@

Cute Interviewee [Jul. 2nd, 2009|04:59 pm]

[Current Mood | giddy]
[Current Music |Sorry Sorry by Super Junior]

So I had to interview an ESL student for one of the homework projects for one of my classes. Mine was a Korean student who's my age and he is TOTALLY cute! His name is Ilkweon. We met up at Starbucks and I treated him to coffee in exchange for his time. lol. His English is really good considering he's only been in America for about 6 or 7 months. Like all Asian students he had to study it in junior and high school, so his grammar is good. However, he was never required to listen or speak it, so it's really cute to hear his little mistakes. Like, he doesn't realize that sometimes he says "she" when he means to say "he".

Anyway, really sweet, right? Well, he offered to give me a ride home and he accidentally said "Can I ride you?" I almost died. I had to tell him not to say it that way because it's got a sexual connotation. *dies*

But guess what! He knows about Super Junior and TVXQ! We listened to Sorry Sorry while he drove me home. XD

I hope I get to hang out with him again soon. He's so adorable~ AND! He's tall. <3

I told my friend George when I got home because I was so giddy and George asked if Ilkweon has a sister. lol.

Summer sickness [Jun. 29th, 2009|09:37 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , , , ]
[Current Mood | sick]
[Current Music |Space Olympics from the Lonely Island OST]

This has got to be one of the best ways to start off my summer: I got sick. And to top it off, I can't ditch any of my classes because there's no way to make them up. :( It's worse because my classes are at night, so I'm warm when I go because the sun is still up, but I leave after the sun goes down and it gets fucking freezing.

FUCKING FREEZING.

It's not like it's winter or anything, but it's the fucking summer. Where is the summer heat? Why has it been so cold lately? It's just mind boggling. It was really fracking hot during graduation but now? I guess Mother Nature hates the Goleta/Santa Barbara area right now. It's hot in Orange County! GRRRRR!!!

Anyway, I turned in my first assignment for my TESOL classes today and I'm working on getting together with a Korean ESL student so I can interview him for my next assignment. I'm actually waiting for him to email me back. I might just have him email me, because then his hotmail account will think: 'Hey, this email is ok. I won't block it anymore!' I kinda' wish the Japanese girl would've gotten back to me because then I could at least explain myself in Japanese. I want to learn Korean, sure, but I haven't started learning yet. And besides, I'd have to work on my pronunciation. Listening to Super Junior and TVXQ songs a billion times over only gives me a limited amount of vocabulary, and they're not singing it like they would be speaking it.

Reminiscing [Jun. 24th, 2009|10:37 pm]

[Current Location |warming up in my apartment, thankfully]
[Current Mood | cold]
[Current Music |background music from kimi wa petto]

So today I walked into IV with Steve, this cute guy from my TESOL class, because we were heading in the same direction. He ended up giving me a ride home, even though I was walking fast. It was fucking COLD, man. Fucking FREEZING. Of course I was going to walk fast. I walked slower with him though because I didn't want to seem like I was rushing him. lol.

ANYWAY. Come to find out, he actually was a part of one of the Asian frats: The Lambdas. OMG. THE LAMBDAS. LOL!!! They're actually known for being really promiscuous, but that might just be a retarded rumor. The guys I've met from there don't seem to be all that bad. Steve's really nice, that's for sure. What's funny is that he actually knows the guys I met through the club Four Aces that I was a part of during my sophomore year. It's hilarious that we should end up in the same class.

I actually asked one of the guys I knew from the frat about if he knew Steve of not, and he remembered him. lol. Called him by the nick-name Steve told us in class: Steve-o. How cute.

It's really refreshing to think back on the past four years. I went to see one of my Japanese professors on Monday and we talked for almost an hour. It was a lot of fun, and great practice. I wanna go to the Japanese 1 class that's being taught during the Summer, just to check it out, but it's at eight in the morning! That's when I used to wake up. My sleeping schedule has gotten really wonky because I've been coming home from class to watch episodes from dramas. lol.

I just finished watching "Kimi wa Petto". It was really cute, and Koyuki, the main character, is SO pretty. Her legs are so long and thin! Her relationship with MatsuJun's character was really adorable too. I'd totally re-watch that series, but my friend has a whole list that she wants me to watch. My other friend has another list that I should watch, but she's still figuring out which order I should watch everything in. lol.

To add to my reminiscing, I bumped into my friend Lizzy from high school on Monday and we planned to hang out yesterday after one of the conference meetings she came to campus for. She goes to UCSC. Anyway, she actually got a new phone and my number didn't transfer over, so when I called her later that night, after I had just realized that we'd missed hanging out, I gave her my number. lol. Anyway, we decided to hang out today and I ended up rolling out of bed at 9 in the morning to hurriedly get ready and meet her on campus. We sat around just talking, which was awesome, and then got In n Out. It was DELICIOUS. I wanted to try eating a double double, but I decided not to because I got a shake with my combo. Chocolate, of course. It filled me up so much that even now I'm not hungry, and I ate noon. Damn, that's some burger/fries/shake combo.

After that, I hung out with Michelle and Alice for a little while at Alice's place. Michelle left early (:() so I ended up waiting for Alice to get back from her class while watching Charmed. It's been a while since I've seen Charmed, and it reminded me that Clarissa would DIE to have the whole Charmed series. I don't know how much it costs, but I'm not going to look. I'm afraid to look. Perhaps as a Christmas Present and Birthday Present to last for the next couple of years. I'll have to get a job first, or pimp out my art to get more commissions. lol.

First Class [Jun. 19th, 2009|10:18 pm]

[Current Mood | bouncy]
[Current Music |Super Junior - It's You]

So, I just got back from my first class this Summer and I really enjoyed it. There are fourteen of us, two of which are guys. They have instantly bonded with each other. It's actually really funny to see how the genders have split, and, at least with the women, how it splits within the gender. We have two Korean girls in the class, and of course they've bonded right away. I actually talked to one of the girls about Super Junior today and she was totally surprised. "How did you know about them?" was all she could say behind a shocked and delighted smile. It was fun talking to her about Goong and realizing that I was pronouncing it all wrong this entire time. I've been pronouncing it the Japanese way. lol. I really need to learn Korean.

Everyone is older than me, except for one of the guys, both of whom are named David. This, I find, is really hilarious. I mean, there are a lot of Davids in the world, but to have only two men in a classroom and have them both be named David? Ridiculous. Anyway, the younger David wore a button-down shirt and slacks. I felt totally under-dressed in that classroom, but I lucked out and the older David, who has elected to be called simply "Dave", was wearing a shirt and jeans. Jodie also was wearing a shirt and jeans. It made me feel a lot better to know I wasn't the only one. I think I'll try wearing something cuter when class meets again on Sunday. :D

The environment was really nice. My teacher was really good about every aspect of her teaching. She actually changed from one activity or subject or anything, really, about every ten to fifteen minutes, which she said is about the average attention span for most adults. We actually discussed this in class. I couldn't believe that we'd spent three hours in that classroom, but we did. I didn't get bored at all. I yawned only once. I doodled thrice, but they were very small. I was sitting in the front of the classroom. lol.

I hope to make some new friends! I got along really well with the adult women too. One of them was surprised that I was jumping back into classes so soon after graduating, but since I've got the rent and they offer the program here, I might as well do it here before moving to Alabama where my parents are. Mom and Dad seem to have settled really well in their new home. Mom's going to send me the layout for the room so I can tell her where the furniture should go. I really wouldn't mind if she did it because she's really good at interior design. Mommy's awesome. <3

And yes, I'm still listening to "It's You" by Super Junior. It was SERIOUSLY stuck in my head during the entire class. I'm surprised I didn't zone out listening to it replay in my head. It was seriously rattling about in my skull while I was intently listening to my teacher. It freaked me out, because that never happens. (O_o)

School is over! [Jun. 19th, 2009|12:32 pm]

[Current Mood | giddy]
[Current Music |Super Junior - It's You]

Yeah, I'm not dead. lol. Finals were a pain because I had papers and projects to get out of the way. I only actually had one in-class final. Everything else was a paper or a project. It was a pain in the ass, and I'm only just now starting to get to unwind. I still feel wound up.

So, both of my roommates moved out and I have the house all to myself. It's really odd waking up to find the room empty except for my stuff spread out on the floor. I inherited Chu's old desk, so I'm thinking of trying to organize the mess on her desk. It's going to be quite the battle. I hope I survive.

Dead week I got into a Korean group called Super Junior. Their songs are really addicting. It doesn't help that I really like three of them, who happen to have their own off-shoot from Super Junior called Super Junior K.R.Y. K = Kyuhyun, R = Ryeowook (he's my favorite!), and Y = Yesung. :D

(Ryeowook's on the left, and Kyuhyun is in the middle. That least Yesung on the right.)
I actually like Kyuhyun's voice the best, but Ryeowook is so damn cute. He's really adorable when he smiles, but I realized last night when I was watching their Sorry Sorry music video that he smiles just like one of my friends. It scared me. lol.

Anyway, aside from watching Super Junior MVs like some sort of addict because they're super good at dancing, I've also gotten into a group called TVXQ, short for Tohoshinki. They're popular in both Korea (where their from) and Japan! Their Japanese is really cute. They were on these Japanese tv shows when they were still learning Japanese and they were only allowed to speak in Japanese. They are SO DAMN ADORABLE. See for yourself:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQFVdb5U49Q&feature=related
(They're picking strawberries and at the beginning one of them is singing "Strawberry, Strawberry, I want to eat strawberries!" SO CUTE.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuX3nvRy5iQ&feature=related
(I want to go to the Ramen Museum!!! I wanna eat all of that good ramen! The subs are so small that I can barely read it, so I didn't bother. I knew enough Japanese to understand what they were saying, but I didn't bother reading the Japanese subs. lol. AGH! Watching this is making me hungry. I think it's lunch time. :D)
I think the one I like is Jejung. Or is it Junsu? It's hard to tell. These guys all look alike. I had the same problem with Super Junior, but they were ten times worse because there are 13 of them! (@_@)

ANYWAY. What I came on here to do is say: 1) I'm alive, 2) I've finally graduated college!, and 3) My first TESOL class is tonight, so instead of doing reading ahead of time I'm distracting myself by listening to Super Junior songs. lol. And you got to see a pretty picture of K.R.Y. in the middle of it all. :D

Looking out the window [Apr. 7th, 2009|04:36 pm]
[Tags|, , , ]
[Current Mood | chipper]
[Current Music |I'm Alive! by Becca]

窓から外を見る。

今日は雨。いせから聞こえる。窓は咲かしたら、白い雲だけ見える。空は全部白い雲だ。木が見えるけど、梢だけ見える。この音と見え物は素敵。

(And now, in English)

I see outside from my window.

Today it is raining. From my seat I can hear it. If I look through my miror, I can only see white clouds. The entire sky is (made of) white clouds. Although I can see a tree, I can only see the the tips of its branches. This sound and what I am able to see are wonderful.

+++

As you've already read, it's raining today. I remember while doing reading for one of my classes that I hadn't talked to my friend Asako in a long time. She was nice enough to give me her bike before she returned to Japan. We met through my Japanese class when she and a few other native Japanese speakers came for us to interview for one of our projects. I sent her a message today through Mixi, which is like Japanese Myspace. Of course, I wrote almost all of it in Japanese and felt terrible that I couldn't remember some words.

I'm trying to get into a program called TESOL. It's very similar to TEFL, and sometimes are used interchangeably. As some of you may know, I would like to go to Japan and teach English. Not only would I be paid to be in Japan (I mean, OMG. JAPAN! The country/culture/language I've been studying for the past four years!), but I'd also be able to become at least a little bit fluent in Japanese. Apparently one of the women in the East Asian Cultural Studies department is under the impression that three years of taking Japanese language at UCSB is enough to become fluent, but I really don't think so. You have to go there and only be able to converse in Japanese in order to become Japanese. That's how I think, anyway. My family and some of my friends also think so. It only makes sense, doesn't it? There's more than what you learn in books, after all.

Anyway, I digress. The TESOL program would teach me to teach English to non-English speaking students. I like this idea, because if I have a TESOL or TEFL certificate, then I'm more likely to get a job teaching in Japan. I mean, seriously? I'd have a fracking certificate. It would make me more official. :D

I think this program will be really good for me. Not only would I have teaching experience, but I'd also have the damned certificate. Since I didn't get into the JET Program this year, this certificate via the program might be my ticket to landed a job in Japan!

I still have to figure out the details, as the cost to do it here at UCSB is ridiculous, but at least I'd get it done in a 7 kill-me-oh-gawd intensive week program. This is really nice in comparison to going to Cal State Fullerton for 2 years. The only problem is that the UCSB program is $3700. I might've done the math wrong, but it'd cost me just the same if I did it at Fullerton, and that would take longer. Not to mention having to either live with my brother or possibly move into an apartment with my totally awesome friend Dawn, who would also be going to Fullerton. lol.

Wish me luck getting into the program and not having to sell my soul to pay for it! :D

This may sound silly, but I remembered on the 22nd of February that when one of my teachers in elementary school signed my year book, he wrote completely in Japanese. I asked him what it meant, but he wouldn’t tell me. A year or two ago I dug up that old year book and looked at what he wrote. I’m glad that now I can read it. Perhaps one day I’ll go back to Hawaii, find that teacher, and tell him how I still remembered that he’d written in my year book in Japanese, and that now, a decade later, I can finally read it.

This has been a long standing concern of mine since my dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few years ago. He always stresses how I need to watch what I eat. After going to my OBGYN, I told her about my dad having diabetes and she suggested that I get a fasting blood sugar test. You're supposed to be between 66 and 108, and I was 88! Like, right smack dab in the middle. Fucking awesome. I went to a dietitian afterward and found out that my eating habits were just fine. My overall goal is to try to prevent the diabetes from ever manifesting. Now, off to make some lunch. :D

I'm more sad than anything. I mean, my grades are really bad because I didn't study enough. I think that might have been what done it. They probably didn't think I'd reflect well on the students.

This sucks. At least my avatar is awesome and perfect for this situation.

So, my grandma sent me some money for Christmas and told me to buy myself a present with it. I wrote her a letter and told her that I'd use the money to help pay for a set of Copic markers. Well, I sent in the order today! I'm a little anxious because they're so damn expensive, but I read on Ecthelian's copic tutorial on deviantArt that dickblick.com had really cheap Copic markers. They are SO much cheaper than Amazon! I was originally only going to get the 36 set, but I bit the bullet and bought the 72 set. I wanted the variety of colors!!! Hopefully I can put those markers to good use and sell some stuff at Fanime this year. I really hope I can make some money while I'm there!!!

I hope they get here when somebody is actually here to pick it up. I hope they get here safe. Oh gawd. Now I'm being paranoid. [dies]

Happy Thanksgiving '08 [Nov. 28th, 2008|10:19 am]
[Tags|, , , , ]
[Current Location |home]
[Current Mood | chipper]
[Current Music |Paper Moon by Tommy heavenly6]

Happy Thanksgiving guys! I know this is a little late... but oh well. lol. According to Robin from How I Met Your Mother, in Canada people celebrate Thanksgiving in October. Is this true?

So we had the fam come over to our apartment for Thanksgiving. I had the most awesome job: iron the table cloth and napkins, then style the napkins to look like a turkeys tail feathers. Fucking awesome. I got to sit around in front of the TV watching Iron Man as I fussed around with the napkin to get it perfect. They looked very pretty standing on the plates. :D

My brother went to his wife's family's house for Thanksgiving this year, which was probably a slightly good thing because we didn't have much room left at the table. Ahaha. We had my aunt and uncle, their son [my cousin who pulled my wisdom teeth for me] and his girlfriend, along with my uncle's friend Ecko with his wife and baby girl. Their baby is SO cute. And for once, dad got to stay home for Thanksgiving the entire day! Things are starting to look up, although the economy really isn't. @_@

We usually have Thanksgiving at my Aunt and Uncle's house, but Auntie Elaine didn't feel like cooking a turkey this year, so the job fell on my mom. Ahahah. Mom and dad made a GREAT turkey. Oh~ it was so good. I felt a little awkward at dinner though because all I ate was turkey, rice, and string beans. lol. Although, I did try the cranberries that my dad made and they were SO good! You didn't even have that cranberry aftertaste! He put in oranges and... and... I don't know what else but it was REALLY good. I should have had more. ahaha. Mom and dad are so good at cooking. I hope I can host a great Thanksgiving dinner when I get older and have a family of my own. That won't happen for quite a while though, but wish me luck anyway, guys! :D

So aside from having a lot of fun with the family yesterday, what have I been doing? School. I have an exam on Monday, and then a quiz and two papers due on Wednesday. The week after that, finals. Luckily, all of my finals are at the end of the week, so I'll have plenty of time to study for them. I really should be more worried about the exam on Monday, but I'm really not. I didn't do a bunch of the reading we were supposed to do because it's a total snore. I just know she's going to ask us questions from it because nobody evens seems to do the reading. She was pretty mean this quarter because for the essay due on Wednesday, she made it so that you pretty much couldn't start working on the paper the day before it's due. Smart, but evil. x_x

I don't know if I'm going to be working over the winter break. If not, I'm planning on opening up commissions again. I'm thinking that I'll do stuff on the computer and color it so that people will be like: OMG! Colors! I love colors! OMG again! That person is doing, like, cheap commissions! Must COMMISH!

"..."

It makes me kinda' hope that I get to work over winter break with my mom. The whole reason why I'm not sure if I'll be able to work this time is because the company fired a third of its staff. Pretty crazy, huh? I'm not lying, though, when I feel that firing some of those people was a good thing because they didn't do enough work. I really wish my mom's assistant hadn't been fired, though, because she was really nice. (TT^TT)

Speaking of work, I sent out my application for the JET Program last week. I really hope I get in. It'd be such a great experience, and I'd have a job. The economy here is really getting bad. I mean, the company fired a third of its staff. That was 12 people, suddenly without a job. And they did it all on the same day. @_@ Pretty crazy, don't you think? I'm really worried about if I'll be able to get a job if I don't get into JET. If I do get into JET, I don't even know if I'll be able to find a job when I get back to the US, y'know? Apparently, Japan is the highest loaner for America's debts. Funny, considering that only a little over 50 years ago Japan was in the dumps because of WWII. Crazy, right?

Here's a little something I'll teach you guys from what I've learned in my Japanese Culture classes. Japanese literature, such as the Tale of the Heike, center around this idea of Impermanence. The US is an example of Impermanence. It seems that although the US has been very prosperous for a long time, it's falling into a slump and is falling from greatness. This is similar to what happened to the Heike in the Tale of the Heike. The Heike clan, also known as the Taira, grew into power through the marriages they made with the nobility and also with the Emperor and his family. However, the Genji clan, also known as the Miyamoto, fought with them in a huge war that ended with the fall of the Heike clan and the assumption of Genji rule. Thus, the Heike Clan is also an example of Impermanence. The US grew into power and was extremely prosperous, but now it's falling from its high ranks. Makes me almost want to move to another country... like Canada where I can get awesome health care. But... when I think about it, this is my home. Would I really be able to leave? I don't know. If I ever do leave, you'll be hearing from me. lol.

And the results are in! ... sort of... [Nov. 8th, 2008|04:41 pm]

So Obama won, but so did Prop 8. Sarah and I played various victory themes from video games for the half hour after we found out Obama won, which was totally awesome. However, the next day I heard about Prop 8 from Meechay. It sucks. I expected more from California, but it's hard to change a person's opinion on things. It gets to a point where you can't do anything about it, but I'm sure that the next generations will be more accepting of people for who and how they are.

Aside from the election, I have a few more results to report. An A and a B on two of my midterms! Totally awesome, but I wanted two A's. lol. I really want to get straight A's this quarter, so I'm going to keep working hard to produce those grades!!! I'm still waiting on my two other midterms, but one of my teachers promised that he'd give our midterms back on Monday. I'm not sure about the other teacher, but we'll see what happens. Wish me luck, guys!

The midterms themselves weren't all that bad. I freaked out more than I really needed. The study session I had consisted of only myself and two others: one annoying stalker-ish half-japanese boy who has a totally Japanese face aside from his slightly prominent nose (I noted it when I saw his profile), and a really nice girl who also has the same name as me. Rather amusing because we had class together with the annoying guy last quarter and now we're in the same class again. My goodness. Anyway, I helped those two a lot more than they helped me, but going over the information with them gave me more confidence, so i guess it wasn't really all that much of a loss. I just spent two hours going over stuff with them because the guy kept asking these slightly ridiculous questions. If he actually paid attention properly in class, he wouldn't have had to ask all those damn questions. Oh, and did I happen to mention that he ALWAYS, without fail, wears a baseball cap. Every time I see him, he's wearing a hat. Even in class. I saw a picture of him on Facebook where he didn't have a hat on and he actually looked kind of cute, but that doesn't change the fact that he can be really fucking annoying and puts a bitter taste in my mouth. Especially when he quasi-stalks me after class. O-o

Aside from all the studying I've been doing, or at least trying to do, I manage to have some fun. Last night I went out with my friend Jen and we saw some art. We both bought these abalone and mother of pearl necklaces that are SO pretty. The way the abalone has been cut makes it look like mountains, and there's an added circle to represent either a sun or a moon. I got the one with a white moon, and Jen got one with a red one, though I think it's safe to just call it a red sun. I also bought my mom this really pretty flower-stand. It has those built-in spikes that you impale the flower stems on. I really really hope she likes it!!! After we went to the art showing shop, we walked through Nordstrom and after talking a bit about make-up we decided to go to Sephora. Sephora loves me. I bought just over $100 worth of stuff. Oh gawd. But I think it's worth it because it'll take me EONS to go through all this stuff and it'll be good to show up to an interview with make-up on. I think it'll help with my appearance, as I have problems with acne. Stupid hormones. TT^TT After that, we snagged some Jack in a Box and went back to her place to watch more episodes of How I Met Your Mother. That show is AWESOME. If you don't already watch it, you totally should. :D Then, she dropped me off at Doug's and I got to watch him play Dead Space, which is a REALLY freaky game. It's good, yeah, but oh gawd I kept crying out in surprise because of the monsters coming to rip out your character's throat! AHHHHH!!!

Today, I heard from my mom that 12 people at work got laid off all on the same day. I was shocked. Mom called to tell me that I probably wouldn't have a job when I come back from break, but knowing the amount of work mom is going to have around Christmas, she's going to beg that I be allowed to come work. Besides, I only work for so long and then I have to go back to school. I'm sure they'll give me a job, but she advised that I just live frugally. This isn't helped by the fact that I'm too lazy to cook a proper meal. I wouldn't be surprised if I gained more weight. Hence the reason why I'm going to make sure I start working out with Jen. I figure we could work out Tuesdays and Thursdays when we both only have one class, which just so happens to be at the same time and ends at the same time. Really convenient, right? You're supposed to work three days a week, though, so I guess we'd work out on Friday or on the weekend too. I really look forward to it. I keep bitching about how I need to lose weight and if I have someone to go with I won't feel as embarrassed to work out at a gym. :D I'm really really looking forward to it.

Midterms [Oct. 27th, 2008|05:42 pm]

To save you guys reading through that really long-winded rant that I pumped out and then, oh so easily, deleted from existence, I have one thing to say.

I fucking HATE midterms right now.

Here's my schedule:

Monday (Today): Classical Japanese Quiz <-- It was retarded. There was an extra section, which wasn't all that bad, but she hadn't said it was going to be on the quiz. It really took me by surprise, but I think I did alright on it.

Tuesday: My Fiction class. Nothing in particular. I finishing reading the book for it on Saturday, and I really enjoyed it. I really wish that all the reading I had to do for my classes were as enjoyable as reading fiction. Goddamn.

Later, I'll be going to a review session for the Drama midterm, which was set up between me and this rather annoying hapa kid in my class who has a really annoying voice and the more I hear it the more I want to punch his fucking lights out.

Wednesday:
9:30am - Japanese Drama & Theatre Midterm <-- Not too worried about it.
11am - Classical Japanese <-- Fuck, we have homework for it.
3:30pm - Southeast Asian American Midterm <-- FUCK!!!

Thursday:
11am - Fiction Midterm <-- FUCK YEAH. Bring it on, mother fucker!!! I'm fucking writing on the book we had to read for Tuesday because I really liked it. :D

Friday: No class, thank the gods. I'll be in San Luis Obispo at a friend's place for Halloween. Doug keeps giving me shit about how I'm leaving for my last Halloween here in Santa Barbara, but I really couldn't give a shit. Seeing someone dressed up as a used tampon while guys dressed up as penises run amok once is enough for me.

Somewhere between all that muck I'm going to have to formulate a plan for signing up for JET because I've been a retard and keep putting off getting all the details worked out, and then after that I have to go through and get that plan DONE. I'm hoping to get all the details worked out Wednesday night and then seeing my professors on Thursday about letters of recommendation. I HAVE to get it done.

FUCK!!!

I wanna cry, but I don't have enough time. Ooo~ Ketsui no Asa ni~ This song lifts my spirits. :)
